Lana Smith-Hale earned her B.S. in Psychology from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, and a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Southern California. A Licensed Clinical Social Worker in California, she also holds a Mediation Certification from UC Irvine. With extensive experience in clinical practice and group dynamics across various mental health settings, Lana began her journey at UCSB in 2014. She has since served as Assistant Director of Graduate Career Services, a lecturer in the Summer Program, and as a therapist and supervisor at the Hosford Clinic. Currently, Lana holds the position of Assistant Ombuds, a role she has held since 2023.
